Home News and eventsEvents Vilnius welcomes the first international SSC conference in the Baltics

It is no secret that the Baltic States represent a “trendy” destination for multinational companies to set-up shared service centers (SSCs). Over the last years, many corporations have invested massively in the region to establish cost-optimized centers dealing with business activities of their parent companies all around the world.

Sensing the increasing importance of the sector in this fast growing Nordic market, the first international conference on shared service centers’ strategic management has decided to come to Vilnius on 12-13 October to gather over 2 days the most important actors of the industry.

One month prior the event, the organizers visited the host city to meet with local SSC movers and shakers.

“It is really important for us to show our dedication to the region by flying to Vilnius to meet several key stakeholders of the SSC industry” said Jules Hudry-Prodon, Managing Director of Connect Minds. “We have received such a great support from all sides when we decided to bring one of our flagship events to Lithuania that we wanted to do it the right way, that is to say, coming in person to strengthen relationships and to build on the long run”, he added.

Mr. Remigijus Šimašius, Mayor of Vilnius, along with Invest Lithuania, insisted to fully endorse the event as part of a global strategy to support existing operating centers and to attract foreign direct investments to the city.

“It is an honor for the municipality of Vilnius to be selected as a location for the Baltic SSC Conference”, Mayor Šimašius said. “We have decided to support the event as a commitment to our engagement towards the development of the SSC industry in the city and we warmly encourage all related professionals to attend the conference that promises to be not only insightful, but also a fantastic opportunity to network with international leaders”.

The highly targeted conference will attract around 60 decision makers from more than 10 countries to discuss the challenges of managing SSCs in the face of fierce international competition and scarcity of trained human resources.

Wanted by the organizers to be “informal though informative and decisive”, the Baltic SSC Conference will allow participants to network and exchange on their current most pressing issues in the cozy environment of the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square.
