In collaboration with partners, the GBS Summit, Accra 2023, is organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Ghana within the framework of Invest for Jobs, the brand of the Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The GBS Summit will take place during the International Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW).

The Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) was inaugurated in 2021 under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-President of Ghana and other key ecosystem actors. It is an annual event that celebrates the accomplishments of Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem and builds momentum towards a common vision for its future development. To pay tribute to an undeniably booming IT/BPO subsector of the digital ecosystem in Ghana, the GIDIW will co-host the GBS Summit, providing the opportunity to understand GIZ’s position in promoting the sector whilst giving new companies the platform to discover the ecosystem in Ghana.
Ghana: An Attractive Destination for IT/BPO Companies
Located within the West-African sub-region, with a relatively stable past, Ghana boasts of a stable political climate, and together with its proximity to other West African nations, makes the country attractive to foreign investors. An added plus for Ghana is its pool of skilled labour. This is evident by the relatively highly educated workforce across board, and high English language proficiency. This gives Ghana a good advantage as an alternative outsourcing location, especially for the English-speaking markets of Europe, North America, and the United Kingdom. Ghana is undeniably one of Africa’s most exciting new investment destinations, having been named the “Best FDI location in Africa for 2022” by International Investor Magazine.
