An average age of respondents was 27 years old; an average experience made 4 years. Of all software developers polled, nearly 49% were middle-level, 27% – senior and 24% – junior specialists. Technology-wise, 25% of survey participants were Java developers, 24.5% – C#/.Net developers, 15% – PHP developers, and the rest – C++, Objective-C, Python, Ruby on Rails and others.
As seen from the table of salaries below, on average IT salaries in Ukraine increased by 15% from May 2011 to May 2012. This finding suggests that in general Ukrainian IT market is keeping step with the global trend for salary hikes in the area of software development. Yet it remains one of the most cost effective software development hubs in Europe.
